AVDA’s Camp CarefreeHelping survivors begin again
A unique camp experience created specifically for
our clients and their families.
AVDA’s Camp Carefree is a unique camp experience created specifically for AVDA’s clients. It serves as an extension of AVDA’s mission to assist victims in escaping abuse and rebuilding their lives to begin again. This no-cost weekend stay at Camp Aranzazu provides former and current AVDA clients and their families the chance to spend quality time together and begin healing in the aftermath of domestic violence trauma.
Begun in 2017, Camp Carefree takes place one long weekend, Friday through Sunday, in June. Campers enjoy such activities as zip-lining, archery, swimming, kayaking, fishing, beachcombing and crafts. Not only does the long weekend allow families to relax and spend time together away from daily life duties, it also encourages bonds of support between families as they enjoy games and dining together. Thanks to the generosity of Camp Carefree donors, the stress-free weekend is also free of cost to the participating families.
