Program Information

Our discussion-based groups focus on personal change to end abusive behavior. AVDA’s Battering Intervention and Prevention Program (BIPP) groups give you tools to end abuse, whether it’s physical, verbal or emotional. Let AVDA help you become the best parent, partner and person you can be. Break the cycle.

Initial Evaluation: $35
Orientation: $30
Group Session: $25/session minimum*
*Fee based on a sliding scale

AVDA’s fully accredited BIPP provides educational services to men and women who have been violent, abusive, and/or controlling in their intimate partner and/or family relationships. There are four phases to BIPP, all of which are available in both Spanish and English.

  • Minimum of 18 weekly sessions (per state BIPP guidelines)
  • Sessions are two hours in duration
  • Daytime, evening and weekend sessions
  • Available in both English and Spanish
  • Separate groups for men and women
  • A group dedicated to gay, bisexual and transgender men
  • Fees paid by money order or online at

The largest in the state, AVDA’s BIPP was the first BIPP in Texas to receive full Accreditation Status by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice/Community Justice Assistance Division.

BIPP Group for Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Men

This specialized group is an alternative to the other predominantly heterosexual men’s BIPP groups and is open to gay, bisexual, and trans men. The group is also inclusive of non-binary and gender fluid individuals.

Orientation: $5
Group Session: No fees

Following orientation and evaluation, participants attend an 18-week psycho-educational support group for gay/bisexual/trans men who have been abusive in their intimate relationships.
