Event Details

Please join us for this our virtual An Evening of Remembrance, Caring, and Hope, a virtual vigil to honor domestic violence victims, survivors and families, coordinated by the Interfaith Advisory Committee and sponsored by AVDA, Daya, and Harris County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council. In recognition of Houston’s religious diversity, tolerance, and acceptance, faith leaders from most of Houston’s major religions (the Baha’i Faith, Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Islam, Jainism, Judaism, Sikhism, and Zoroastrianism) are taking part in An Evening of Remembrance, Caring, and Hope. They will read the names of those who lost their lives to domestic violence in 2021 with Rev Harry B-Happy Bartholomew providing Gong Blessings. That evening Houston City Hall will be lit in purple, the color for domestic violence awareness symbolizing survival, courage, and peace.
