Event Details

Co-sponsored by AVDA, Daya and the Harris County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council, the Interfaith Advisory Council will present a free, virtual Interfaith Domestic Violence Training for faith leaders from across Greater Houston. As first responders to abuse survivors, faith leaders need the necessary tools to keep families safe in our community. This seminar will help faith leaders recognize and respond to domestic abuse. Keynote Speaker Suzanne Holsomback, Texas Council on Family Violence’s leadership development manager, will discuss intimate partner violence intervention from a theological perspective. She will explore the sacred responsibility of faith communities to foster healthy families and examine marriage as a covenant that is broken by the abuser, not the victim.
