End Abuse 2018 Awareness BreakfastWednesday, April 11, 2018
The Junior League of Houston
1811 Briar Oaks Lane
AVDA’s second annual End Abuse Awareness Breakfast built awareness of the prevalence of domestic violence in our community and provided information on local resources for victims of family violence.
The Junior League of Houston ballroom was filled to capacity with 300+ guests, many of whom were learning about AVDA for the first time. Carter Dugan and Rachel Roosth, both with Norton Rose Fulbright, Presenting Sponsor, co-chaired the event with KPRC-TV Meteorologist Khambrel Marshall serving as emcee.
Keynote speaker Mark Wynn, a nationally acclaimed domestic violence expert, spoke about his childhood experiences of growing up with family violence. Wynn shared that as a lieutenant with the Nashville police force, he learned to “apply gentle, relentless pressure on law enforcement and the judicial system to change the culture and not rob children of their futures.”
